Microphone not working Win10

Was working fine the day before yesterday, didn’t do anything special other than use Stereo Mix for a while. When I was about to do activities with friends while voice chatting on discord, I switched from Stereo Mix back to my microphone – only to realise that for some reason my microphone wasn’t detecting anything. I’m using a built in microphone for my laptop, so to have this kind of problem is frustrating as the voice call is important for my gameplay since I’m a healer and usually the most experienced person on my team.

I have tried following the article’s instructions and even resetting my laptop; but nothing changed. The microphone is set to default, the green bars only appear when I’m removing and inserting the microphone jack for my gaming headphones, but they don’t actually pick up any sound either. I’m not sure what’s the problem, honestly, and I don’t really plan on getting a usb microphone unless the problem really cannot be solved.

I think I should also mention that I am really not tech savvy.

Hey –last–,

Just making sure: have you also tried removing your mic drivers and then reinstalling them? As it says in the article?

What model is your microphone?

Cheers
