Microhone is detected but won’t work

Hello,
I’ve followed all the guides I can find online:

– My privacy settings are correct
– Mic is set to default
– I have uninstalled and reinstalled my driver
– I’ve tried the mic in both front and rear ports
– I have a splitter for my headphone/mic

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello, I always suggest that you get the driver from the motherboard manufacturer’s official website… have you got that?

What mic are you using and which type of splitter? USB of 3.5mm? I’ll do my best to help you… will be waiting for your reply!

Hello Halley34, I think USB will be more reliable, can you refollow our guide with your microphone USB connected and see if it fixes the situation? Thanks.

Try reinstalling the microphone drive or update the driver

I have the same problem and have followed all the “fix it:

steps.using 3.5mm

Today I got the mic to work by increasing the volume slider, turned the computer to sleep and came back 3 hours later to the same problem. No one can hear me, I hear them.

using a headset and have tried a different one, same problem

Please help, no fun playing a MMO when u can not talk.

The problem may have started after a windows update and I did go into privacy and saw that it was turned on

Hello quatrain, did you try to re-install the Audio driver from your computer’s manufacturer’s official website after the update? This may solve your problem so worth a shot. Also, give it a try with some USB connection (3.5 mm to USB adapter).

Same problem here, but mic works in windows 10 test, just not in game because windows privacy crap doesn’t allow microphone to be used from Steam, Arma 3, Teamspeak, etc..

This privacy crap is starting to piss me off. People want to chat in game and should have the choice to do so.

HyperX Cloud win10 Pro reintslled, new audio drivers still no steam/arma3 vooice.

I’ve got somewhat the same problem. Mic works in windows, just not any other program like Steam/Arma3 Tried all above options, reinstalled MoBo drivers. Win10 doesn’t allow me to adjust  volume though. Headset: Hyperx Cloud II headphones work just fine, Mic only in windows 10. Settings say: Some  desktop apps might not appear in the following list or are not affected by this setting. <link> Find out why </link>. In this list are steam client webhelper, teamspeak 3 client, windows host process, speech UX Configuration, Arma 3.

Scrolling forums for 4 days, no solution. pls help.
